Many of us are working with individuals who are learning English as a Second Language. Luckily, the Web is an incredible resource. Here are some ESL links to explore and share:
- ESL to Go--An ESL teacher shares his lessons
- EnglishPod--Learn English through fun 5-minute exercises and connections to other students learning English throughout the world. Uses the Praxis model for learning languages.
- 6-Minute English--includes podcasts and lessons.
- ESL Podcasts--a nice list of ESL resources in podcast form. Students can listen online or download to an iPod or mp3 player.
- BizPod--Learn Business English with this series of ESL videos.
- Business English Pod--provides free weekly MP3 podcast ESL lessons and audio / e-Book courses for intermediate and advanced business English learners. Each lesson is focused on a particular workplace English skill (meetings, presentations, telephoning, negotiating, socializing, travel, conversation etc.) and language function (clarifying, disagreeing, questioning, expressing opinions, persuasion etc.).
- LearnEnglish--A UK-based site that includes interactive games and multimedia.
- Listen-to-English--The podcasts on this site will help you to improve your English vocabulary and pronunciation and your listening skills. There are two short (3 to 5 minutes) podcasts every week, in clearly spoken English. Many of them are linked to grammar and vocabulary notes, or to exercises or quizzes.
