ABOUT GSETA CONFERENCE
The Garden State Employment and Training Association (GSETA) is a statewide professional organization. The annual conference is geared towards improving workforce development strategies occurring across our nation. It draws participants from all levels including: direct service staff, managers, board members and others who are involved in workforce development. Past conference attendees included employers, adult educators, community and faith based organizations, county and local welfare agencies, vocational education professionals, various service providers, city and county governments, state officials, economic development agencies, elected officials, and community action agencies. The conference is open to workforce professionals.
GSETA 2016 WORKSHOPS
Through the leadership of the Workforce Development Boards, local program operators and administrators, and our labor and workforce development partners, workshop topics have been developed to assist workforce practitioners in delivering a seamless continuum of services to our diverse customers. GSETA’s mission is to “promote leadership, knowledge and the advancement of New Jersey’s workforce system”; and our annual conference is one way that we fulfill our mission.
The GSETA Conference is the venue where all workforce system partners gain knowledge, skills and the information they need to ensure our nation’s economic growth. To advance the goals of the consolidated One-Stop Career System, the conference presents a core of diverse topics meant to share “Best Practices” designed to equip workforce professionals with the tools they need to tackle some of the issues facing our nation’s workforce system. This year’s conference will focus on the innovations and opportunities that our workforce system will undergo with the new WIOA legislation. - On-Site registrations will be welcomed with cash, money order, vouchers or PO’s, at the registration.
- Name badges will be issued at the time of registration at the conference. Badges are required for admission to all GSETA-sponsored activities, including luncheons, workshops, evening reception and other events.

Conference events will take place at Bally’s Park Place Hotel located on Park Place and Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

2016 SHARON DUTRA MEMORIAL STAR (Student Training Achievement Recognition) AWARD LUNCHEON
For the past 30 years, GSETA has acknowledged youth and adults who have achieved personal and employment goals. With the assistance of programs provided through the workforce system, honored individuals found ways to complete their education to gain sustainable employment despite the extraordinary barriers they faced. This award was renamed in 2007 to honor our GSETA colleague, the late Sharon Dutra, who was a Planner for the Monmouth County WIB and an advocate for those struggling to succeed.
